Geneva, Feb 2 (Prensa Latina) The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that as of today over 100 million doses of vaccines against Covid-19 have been administered worldwide.
According to the data, people in 77 countries have been immunized, while a little more than a third of the world’s population lives in countries where those processes have not yet begun.
The WHO clarifies that the number of doses is not equivalent to the number of vaccinated people, as some candidates need more than two administrations of the drug.
Among the countries that have administered the most doses are the United States (32.2 million), China (24 million) and the European Union (13 million).
The United Arab Emirates (3.4 million) and India (4 million) also stand out.
On Monday, WHO announced that for the third week in a row, the number of Covid-19 infections worldwide decreased.
However, it warns, the guard cannot be lowered, and all countries must continue with the same proven public health measures to prevent infections and save lives.
